Keycap profile describes the shape, height, and row-to-row contour of a set. MOA and Cherry profiles create noticeably different visual and typing experiences, but neither is automatically better for everyone.
MOA profile
MOA keycaps have a rounded, dimensional shape and a playful visual style. The broad, curved tops make illustrated themes especially prominent. The Strawberry Cat set uses MOA profile.
Cherry profile
Cherry-profile keycaps are generally lower and use different shapes across keyboard rows. Their more restrained silhouette is common in both plain and themed sets.
Shape and visual feel
MOA creates a softer, more sculptural board surface. Cherry looks flatter and more traditional. Photos taken from the side are the best way to compare their silhouettes.
Typing feel
Profile can change how your fingers meet each row, but preference is personal. Switch type, keyboard angle, desk height, and typing technique all influence comfort. A product photo or profile diagram can show shape, but it cannot guarantee how a profile will feel to you.
Compatibility still comes first
Profile does not determine stem, spacebar, or modifier compatibility. A MOA set and a Cherry set can both use MX-style mounts while containing different key inventories.
